We offer a variety of programs for pets and their owners as well as animal lovers in the community.

Low-Cost Rabies/Microchip Clinics

We offer low-cost rabies/microchip clinic for both cats and dogs throughout monthly. Check out Events to see when the next one is scheduled.

Pet Food Pantry

We are happy to support pet owners who need temporary help feeding their pets. Pet owners may stop by the shelter to receive pet food. Pet owners will be asked a few simple questions to be sure we are helping those who are in most need of this program. We also distribute pet food through a dozen local food pantries.

Humane Education Program

We believe that education is the key to preventing cruelty and neglect of animals. Staff and trained volunteers present educational programs on a wide range of topics, including responsible pet ownership and care, pet safety, dog bite prevention, animal cruelty and more. We often participate in community events with shelter pets or shelter alumni !

Pet Therapy Program
It is well known that people experience warmth, love and acceptance through interactions with companion animals. This program gives those in area hospitals, nursing homes and other caring facilities who are unable to have their own animals the opportunity to spend time with pets. The pet therapy program is a wonderful bonding experience for volunteers and their pets and provides great emotional support to all those in participating facilities.

Reading Tails Program
Children are given the opportunity to share a book with a registered pet therapy dog and their owner. We also work with schools so that children can read to shelter pets at our facility. By encouraging a child to read to a canine friend they associate their love of animals with reading in a judgement free experience and hopefully in turn gain confidence and proficiency.
